Becoming A Billionaire Episode 1



Pada tahun 1999
Drama ini di mulai saat Choi Suk Bong masih sekolah. Ia tengah di hukum oleh Guru karena berkelahi dengan temannya. Lalu ia bilang pada Gurunya bahwa ayahnya adalah seorang chaebol (orang kaya). Gurunya menertawakan ucapannya yang dianggapnya bohong. Teman sebangku Suk Bong membenarkan ucapan Suk Bong. Dengan yakin Suk Bong juga memperlihatkan kalung sebagai bukti bahwa ia benar-benar anak orang kaya.

Flash back.
Seorang wanita muda (ibu Suk Bong) membawa kue tart di bandara.
Ia berniat menemui mantan kekasihnya yang mencampakannya dan akan pergi bersama wanita lain. Dengan marah ia melemparkan tart itu ke wajah pria yang sudah mengkhianatinya. Lalu ia duduk dan menangis sesenggukan tanpa sadar telah menduduki tiket pesawat milik seorang pria yang tengah duduk disampingnya. 
Bahkan ia menumpahkan kemarahannya pada pria itu. Pria itu berbaik hati meminjamkan saputangan padanya. Dengan joroknya ibu Suk Bong membuang ingus dan mengembalikan saputangan pada pria itu (yiiaaak...). 
Ibu Suk Bong bangun dan tiket yang tadi di dudukinya menempel di pantatnya karena nggak sengaja terkena krim dari kue tart. Pria itu melihat tiketnya yang menempel dan berlari menyusulnya. Apesnya saat ia  berusaha  mengambil tiketnya, pas banget tiketnya terbang kena angin dan tangannya udah keburu nempel di pantat ibu Suk Bong (bwahaha...). Bisa dipastiin Ibu Suk Bong marah karena merasa di lecehkan dan menendang kaki pria itu. Setelah dijelaskan, Ibu Suk Bong terlihat malu dan mengajaknya minum bersama. Walhasil karena mabuk mereka berakhir di tempat tidur. Keesokan harinya Ibu Suk Bong bangun dan kaget saat mendapati dirinya berada di kamar hotel.

Sebuah berita di TV memberitakan sebuah kecelakaan pesawat terbang yang seharusnya juga membawa pria itu pergi ke New York kemarin. Ia berterima kasih pada Ibu Suk Bong yang menurutnya sudah menyelamatkan hidupnya. Ia mengajaknya makan di restoran. Lalu pria itu memberikan kalung yang dipakainya pada Ibu Suk Bong. Ia bilang kalung itu satu-satunya di dunia ini. Karena ada urusan pekerjaan ia harus pergi. Dan sebelum pergi ia mencatat nomor teleponnya di buku The Great Gatsby.
Ia meminta Ibu Suk Bong berjanji untuk meneleponnya. Lalu ia pergi dengan mobil mewahnya. Penasaran Ibu Suk Bong bertanya pada penjaga hotel mengenai pria itu yang di jawab bahwa pri itu adalah orang kaya.
Beberapa hari kemudian Ibu Suk Bong pergi ke telepon umum hendak menelepon pria yang kemarin. Namun di luar ia melihat seorang wanita tua terjatuh. Reflek ia datang dan menolong wanita itu tanpa ia sadari buku The Great Gatsby yang di bawanya tertinggal di atas boks telepon. 

Beberapa tahun berlalu.
Choi Suk Bong sudah tumbuh menjadi pria dewasa. Ia merasa terlahir sebagai orang kaya dan berlaku selayaknya orang kaya. Berbekal kalung pemberian mendiang ibunya ia kerap kali mendatangi pertemuan para chaebol (orang kaya) di Korea. Ia selalu menunjukkan kalungnya dan berharap ada orang yang mengenalinya. Pada suatu hari ia menunjukkan kalung pemberian ayahnya dan salah seorang dari chaebol ada yang terkejut melihat kalung itu. 
Ternyata Choi Suk Bong bekerja sebagai Bellboy hotel dimana rapat itu diadakan. Jas yang ia pakai adalah milik salah satu tamu hotel. Teman-temannya tahu ia selalu berkata bahwa ia orang kaya (yang tentu aja dianggap bohong). Cuma sahabatnya yang percaya padanya.
Kepala hotel sedang mengajari para Bellboy untuk mengikuti kata-katanya. Hanya Suk Bong yang terlihat enggan mengikutinya. Kepala hotel terlihat kesal. Suk Bong tetap tidak mau mengikuti perintahnya walau ia kena omel dan jeweran.
Dengan angkuh ia bilang bahwa ia anak konglomerat (ngeliat episode pertama nggak suka sama sifat Suk Bong, kayaknya sombong n belagu banget).

Di tempat lain, Lee Shin Mi yang merupakan anak konglomerat baru pulang dari luar negeri.
Ia diminta untuk menangani masalah dengan para pekerja di salah satu perusahaan miliknya. Ia mendatangi perusahaannya yang pekerjanya sedang berdemo.
Shin Mi diperkenalkan sebagai Manager perusahaan Oh Sung. Ia terlihat marah dan menghadap ketua pendemo. Mereka terlibat perdebatan. Perusahaan terancam bangkrut dan para pegawai berdemo karena belum di gaji. Shin Mi dengan  caranya meyakinkan para pegawai untuk berdiri dibelakangnya dan membantu agar perusahaan tidak jadi bangkrut. Ia memotong sedikit rambutnya sebagai simbol atas janjinya. Para pegawai bimbang. Tapi satu persatu mereka berdiri dibelakang Shin Mi. 

Kembali ke hotel. Kepala hotel masih mengadakan pertemuan dengan para Bellboy. Ia memberitahu bahwa Manager akan tinggal di hotel dan butuh seorang Bellboy untuk melayaninya. Tapi tak seorangpun bersedia. Manager hotel itu adalah Lee Shin yang terkenal pelit dan mengerikan. Walaupun dengan imbalan bonus besar sampai 100%, tidak ada juga yang bersedia. Kepala hotel mencoba menunjuk salah satu dari mereka tapi dijawab lebih baik mati daripada harus melayani Shin Mi (haha...kayaknya bener2 serem nih Shin Mi). Suk Bong akhirnya meminta pekerjaan itu dengan bonus 120%. Kepala hotel terkejut, tapi ia tidak punya pilihan lain jadi ia menyanggupi.

Di dalam mobil menuju hotel, Shin Mi ditanya mengapa berani memotong rambutnya. Seharusnya ia membeli rambut palsu saja. Shin Mi menjawab kalo wig itu mahal. (waduh...waduh udah ketahuan pelitnya neh). Asistennya Shin Mi meminta izin hendak mengisi bensin. Shin Mi langsung menyodorkan kartu agar asistennya membeli bensin dengan sisa kartu miliknya dan juga menyuruh mencuci mobil dengan kupon gratis (ckckck...). Ditengah jalan tiba-tiba Shin Mi minta berhenti. Asistennya spontan menginjak rem dengan keras. Ternyata Shin Mi cuma mau meminta sampel gratis dari mobil yang tengah membagi-bagikan sampel masker gratis.

Setibanya di hotel, para pegawai hotel berbaris menyambut kedatangannya.
Mereka semua terlihat takut. Shin Mi sempet-sempetnya memperingatkan Han So Jung, asistennya agar jangan menginjak rem terlalu keras karena hal itu adalah pemborosan bensin (aku cuma geleng pala, nggak tahu deh harus ngomong apa). Shin Mi melihat barisan para pegawainya dan marah-marah pada mereka karena ia membayar mereka untuk bekerja. Barisan bubar. Suk Bong mendekat dan memberi hormat. Shin Mi mencelanya
"Berapa tambahan uang yang kau dapatkan untuk melayaniku?".
"Tidak ada, " jawab Suk Bong.
"Pecat," ucap Shin Mi "Orang ini tidak cocok dengan pekerjaan ini."
"Maaf nona. Jika memecat dia sekarang sudah tidak ada sisa staf lagi." Kepala hotel membela Suk Bong. 
"Kalau begitu pecat dia setelah aku pergi."
Suk Bong mengantar Shin Mi ke kamar. Shin Mi langsung menyuruh Suk Bong pergi. 
"Apa masih ada lagi yang anda butuhkan?" tanya Suk Bong.
"Tidak. Kau pergi saja."
"Kalau begitu apa ada yang anda lupakan?"
Shin Mi menatap Suk Bong dengan galak "Apa kau mengharapkan tip dariku? Aku bukan lupa, tapi sama sekali tidak ada pikiran untuk memberimu tip. Jangan mengharapkan tip dariku," kata Shin Mi tajam.

Dari Park Kang Woo teman sesama Bellboy yang juga sahabatnya, ia baru tahu mengapa orang kaya seperti Shin Mi tidak memberinya uang tip.
Kang Woo menyebut Shin Mi sebagai hantu pelit yang menyeramkan. Ia bilang Shin Mi menempati President Room bukan karena ia pemilik hotel, tapi karena kamar itu selalu kosong karena mahal. Selalu memakai makeup dan tas dari barang sampel. Hanya memakai kartu kredit sedikit mungkin dan memanfaatkan kupon gratis.
Selagi Yoo Dong bercerita Shin Mi juga tengah mengecek seluruh hotel.
Memastikan tidak ada pemborosan di dalam hotelnya. Ia meminta lampu hotel untuk dimatikan pada waktu siang hari. Menyuruh pegawai yang tengah mengepel (Nggak tahu namanya apa, tapi alat itu seperti mobil mini yang bekerja dengan berputar-putar. Kayak naik bom-bom car. Tapi mobilnya lebih kecil) agar ia menggunakan kain pel untuk menghemat listrik. Shin Mi memperingatkan siapa yang membantahnya tak segan-segan memecat orang itu. Suk Bong sangat kesal mendengar itu semua. Ia bertekad membuat Shin Mi memberinya uang tip.

Shin Mi memotong rambutnya. Setelah sebelumnya Suk Bong mengejek rambutnya. Ia tengah berjalan di koridor hotel saat ia melihat salah satu ruangan lampunya menyala. Penasaran ia mendekat. Di dalam Suk Bong tengah menjadi pembicara di hadapan para sesama Bellboy. Suk Bong mengajari bagaimana menjadi orang kaya. Shin Mi geleng-geleng kepala mendengar ucapan Suk Bong, tapi membiarkan saja rapat kecil itu.

Suk Bong mendatangi agen buku bekas guna mencari buku yang dulu dihilangkan oleh ibunya. Pemilik itu menyerahkan buku yang dicari-cari Suk Bong 'The Great Gatsby'. Suk Bong membuka-buka setiap halaman buku, tapi tak menemukan nomor telepon yang dicarinya. Ia terlihat kecewa.

Shin Mi tengah berenang. Sementara Suk Bong masuk ke kamar Shin Mi mengantar pakaian. Ia melihat koran di atas meja. Koran itu berisi mengenai jual beli saham yang sudah ditandai di beberapa bagian dengan spidol. Shin Mi datang langsung menginterogasinya. Ia menganggap Suk Bong sebagai pencuri. Suk Bong nggak terima. Ia menyeret Shin Mi keluar dan membawanya ke depan lokernya. Suk Bong mempelihatkan koran yang sama dan juga sudah ditandai kepada Shin Mi. Suk Bong memberi penjelasan. Shin Mi hanya diam saja.
Ternyata melawan  Bos ada konsekuensinya. Suk Bong dapat hukuman membersihkan kaca di area kolam renang yang cukup luas. Dengan santai Shin Mi mengawasi dan memanggilnya. Ia haus dan meminta Suk Bong memegangi gelas jusnya.
Dengan menahan jengkel Suk Bong menuruti perintahnya. Lalu Suk Bong berdiri didepan Shin Mi dan meminta uang tip. Tentu saja Shin Mi menolak permintaanya. Suk Bong melihat uang coin di meja. Shin Mi melihat itu. Dengan cepat ia menyambar uang itu, tapi uang itu malah jatuh ke kolam renang. Shin Mi menyuruh Suk Bong mengambil uang itu. Suk Bong terjun ke kolam renang, tapi setelah beberapa saat Suk Bong tak muncul. Shin Mi sedikit panik. Ia jongkok di tepi kolam renang dan memanggil Suk Bong. Tiba-tiba Suk Bong keluar dan airnya  menyembur mengenai wajah Shin Mi.
Shin Mi meminta uangnya kembali dan berlalu pergi. Suk Bong mencegahnya dan meminta uang itu sebagai tip untuknya. Shin Mi terlihat akan meyerahkan uang itu. Tapi yang terjadi ia malah mendorong Suk Bong ke arah kolam renang.
Basah kuyup Suk Bong masuk ruang karyawan. Di TV sedang menayangkan berita mengenai seorang pria kaya raya penerus perusahaan Frontier Group. Kepala hotel memberikan sebuah surat pada Suk Bong. Surat itu berisi hasil medical cek-up karyawan.

Choo Woon Suk. Pria yang tadi masuk TV sedang di wawancarai oleh reporter wanita. Reporter itu terlihat menyukai Woon Suk dan memberinya kartu nama . Namun seorang wanita datang menghampiri mereka.
Dia adah Boo Tae Hee (Ini nih yang aku suka dari drama ini. Lee Si Young keren banget memainkan karakter Tae Hee yang manja plus lebay dan selalu modis. Suka banget liat baju2 yang dipake ama dia). Dia mengusir reporter itu. Bahkan merobek kartu nama yang hendak diberikan pada Choo Woon Suk.
Woon Suk hanya tersenyum melihat sikapnya. Tae Hee memanggil Woon Suk dengan oppa. Berarti hubungan mereka cukup dekat. Dan Woon Suk memang menganggap Tae Hee seperti adiknya. Tapi Tae Hee menolak karena ia menyukai Woon Suk. Ia juga suka memata-matai Woon Suk dengan memperlihatkan foto Woon Suk dengan wanita lain. Dan berusaha mencari tahu siapa wanita itu.

Di Hotel akan diadakan pesta untuk para perwakilan Amerika. Tamu-tamu yang hadir adalah orang-orang kaya di Korea. Semua staf hotel berusaha menyiapkan semuanya dengan sempurna. Mereka terlihat sibuk. Shin Mi sebagai tuan rumah tiba-tiba menghilang. Semua panik dan berusaha mencarinya. Suk Bong lah yang berhasil menemukannya. Rupanya Shin Mi alergi menjadi pusat perhatian orang banyak.
Suk Bong membawa Shin Mi kembali ke kamarnya. So Jung datang membawa gaun pesta untuknya. Mata Suk Bong menangkap sebuah buku yang tergeletak di meja Shin Mi. Buku dengan judul Great Gatsby menarik perhatiannya. Saat hendak mengambil buku itu, Shin Mi terlebih dahulu menyambar buku itu dan menyuruh Suk Bong pergi.

Tae Hee juga sedang bersiap diri untuk menghadiri pesta itu.

Ia tengah dibantu pelayannya memakai gaun pesta yang sepertinya kekecilan. Tapi ia tetap memaksa memakai gaun itu. Tae Hee menanyakan wanita dalam foto yang bersama Woon Suk. Ia kaget saat tahu wanita itu adalah Shin Mi.

Shin Mi pergi menuju pesta.

Suk bong diam-diam masuk ke kamar Shin Mi karena penasaran pada buku yang tadi ditemukannya. Mungkin aja itu memang buku milik ibunya yang hilang dulu. Disana ia bisa menemukan nomor telepon ayahnya. Suk Bong berpura-pura akan memasang lampu saat ada pelayan wanita didalam.

Di pesta Shin Mi bertemu dengan Woon Suk.
"Kenapa kau tidak menelepon? Aku menunggu teleponmu," tanya Woon Suk
"Sudah kubilang aku tidak akan menelepon."

Sementara di kamar Suk Bong berhasil menemukan buku itu dan membuka buku itu dan terkejut melihat isinya.
